On Tuesday the 5th of February 2019, Al Quds Human Rights Clinic- Al-Quds University conducted a field visit for the South African Judge, Mrs. Navi Pillay, accompanied by a group of professors and students from the university. The visit involved the communities of Al-Khan Al-Ahmar and Jabal Al Baba bedouin in Area C in the south eastern outsikirt of Jerusalem. The Judge Pillay visited the school in Al-Khan Al-Ahmar, the clinic in Jabal Al-Baba and met with the representatives of the two communities who briefed her on their daily sufferings, most importantly their forced displacement. 

The tour included a comprehensive elaboration by the clinic supervisor, Mr. Osama Risheq, on the long legal battles between the Bedouin communities and the Israel civil administration in the Israeli Courts, the Israeli alternative plans to relocate the Bedouin communities and the Israeli Settlement expansion plan in the targeted area which is known as the E1 plan.   

Mrs. Navi Pillay worked as a judge at the International Criminal Court (ICC), the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and served as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
